Running away, dream by cosmos -- Oct. 28, 2013

I don't remember it as well anymore, though it was quite fresh this morning. But I recall feeling anxious when I awoke this morning, feeling as if I was trying to escape something. It was a hodge-podge of imagery - from an idyllic town in upstate New York where I went to college, but with my nephew (2.9 years-old) and my mother (senior citizen). My mother likes to shop, which I generally loathe doing unless absolutely necessary, though I have mindlessly done some eye-shopping in the past for wont of an imagination to do anything else at that convenient moment. In any case, my parents were visiting me in this town, and it was both snowing (up in the elevated areas where my dorm-like accommodation was located) and spring-like weather below in the valley. I remember running down the hill in my hiking boots in full winter clothing that shed itself off as I got closer to the bottom of the hill and worrying how I was going to get back up without my winter clothing. But I continued down nonetheless as I happen to have a "let's throw spaghetti on the wall and see what sticks" mentality as a means of deciding on how to figure out what to do next, euphemistically described as being "spontaneous." It was as if I had an appointment (which I did this morning, a conference call that got cancelled at the last minute) but I was walking through an outdoor/indoor gallery of little shops full of curios and home-made/indigenous clothing you'd find in rural or tourist areas. When I was down in the shopping gallery, I had the feeling that I was in the mountains of Switzerland or the Jura, and I was looking for my nephew and my Mother, even though I had just escaped from her up in my abode at the top of the mountain. I found them disputing over something in the store with the owner, and I was able to quickly resolve the issue. But the owner then came after us with a long knife (I had watched a mystery crime program on Netflix the night before concerning a knife attack so perhaps that's where the knife comes from?), and I rushed my Mother and nephew out of the store. She chased after us, and I managed to get us to brief safety by hiding amongst some storage boxes and clothes racks off in an empty space of the gallery. I picked up my nephew and told him to be quiet as I began to start off running again and told my Mom to follow, to hold on to my pant waist, but she kept saying that she was scared and too old to run, but I insisted.

What an intense dream ! thanks for sharing and let's start it all over.
    many beautiful images and landscapes.
your dream has 2 parts: one below the valley and one in a top of a montain ; is that right ?
you're in a hurry, running, walking, so much in action, why ?
ido you think it could refer to an issue or a fear you're trying to avoid?
how do you see the fact that you are wounded by a knife ? is the agressor was a man or a woman ? you said "she" but it's not clear to me.
you saw your mother in the dream. isn't interresting that you're the one who s providing protection and confort ?
