Periscopes in the streets, dream by mikele -- Nov. 28, 2012

We are in Japan, may be Tokyo. There is a "situation" going on, apparently some danger, a war, a chase or something similar. I am not really afraid. People are a bit restless. I am in the street, on a hill with a female friend, may be M. I see these large green periscopes coming out of the ground and "looking" around. The "head" of the periscopes looks very high tech, we can see some of the mechanisms inside that can move at least two mirrors. Body is dark green. There are several of these periscopes coming out of the sidewalks on each street. We can see them turn move up and down. I explain to my friend that some of the people were frightened and went to hide underground, and that they use the periscopes to see what is happening outside. In fact, this is an exaggerated behavior, there is no reason to hide underground.

thx wk! There has been a feeling of transformation in the past months, in particular the inner and outer coming more into tune with each other, or so I hope. May be the periscopes represent the first steps of that process... Sure, lets try a deeper look! | |

Correct! these periscopes seemed to have a life of their own. The periscopes represent the people hiding underground, watching what is "outside". Now that you mention this ~ I notice the theme of the "outside" versus the "inside" is very strong. And may be the inside is just getting a small peak about what is going on, on the outside ... or the reverse ! I wanted to try to draw one of these periscopes ... may be later! :) | |

Thanks! When I read your dream and imagined it, the periscopes seemed animate.. Almost alive! Like an extension of the self.. A little comical. Does that resonate with you? I have noticed the 'urban' theme in your dreams, along with Tokyo. :) wk | |

hi wombknower :) thanks for the question! Indeed, I often notice that some specific colors stand out in my dreams. This dream is another instance of these "urban" dreams I have, with the fast pace life of big cities and may be less colorful. These periscopes seem to refer to another world: may be the dark green represents nature, deep forests, contrasting with the city. The color now reminds me of the green tones in the picture you uploaded in your "Into the woods, with Him". It could also relate to the military color green, following the latest conflict in Gaza/Israel. I've been pretty worried about it, with still many friends living there, and the feeling I should be more involved with what is happening. In the dream, the periscopes were also made out of some plastic, as if the green was supposed to hide that fact. | |
