Not where I'd thought I'd be, dream by jenn -- Aug. 14, 2012

I was in a car, getting ready to park. I realize that I need to do a 3 point turn in order to park here. The person I'm with (whom I never see or try to look at) comments on how important being able to do 3 point turns is when you get out here. I park easily and then I'm walking.

I'm not sure where we're going (the person is still beside me, although out of view) but as we're walking - with many people around us - I see my father coming towards me with a group of men. I turn to the person beside me and say something like "watch this". Then I called out to my dad by saying "hi, dad". He seemed surprised to see me. He said hi back, but kept walking with the men up some stairs into a building. I said "see?" to the person beside me, as though I hadn't expected my father to stop. I kept walking, although I was aware that I was now taking a slightly different route than I had intended because I didn't want my father to be able to follow me if he changed his mind and tried to come after me.

We walked for a while and then I stopped. We were now in the middle of a dirt road on the edge of a forest. There were people all around, mostly going towards the forest. I didn't think this is where I had been heading. I thought I would be able to get back to my car, but I realized that was impossible from here. The only way I would be able to get back to my car is to turn around and retrace all my steps. With this realization, the dream ended.

Thank you for this - your first recorded - dream experience!

I am quite intrigued by the idea of the 3 point turn. So, I googled its purpose:

"The three-point turn is a method of reversing the direction of a vehicle when the road is too narrow for a U-turn."

So this got me thinking.. 3 point turns are meant to help you CHANGE DIRECTION when THERE ISNT ENOUGH ROOM to do a complete ABOUT FACE. That really struck me as meaningful. Also, the fact that there is a presence with you who tells you how important that technique is there.. and then you do it easily Triumph!

If it were my dream, I'd reflect on the difference between a U-turn and a 3-point-turn.. and think about where in my life I am doing it, where I am not.. and where I may need to. All the while trusting that I am very capable of doing it.

Moving on to father.. I think that this part likely speaks to you personally.. I don't know your relationship with your father... but the person with you is what is catching my attention. Feels like a guardian angel. They say that sometimes, our spirit guides show up in our dreams as spiritual companions. There by our side all the time, engaging us is Divine commentary.

In the last part of the dream.. you are forced to do a U-turn. Or at least you think so. You don't want to follow the crowd into the forest (Why? Where are they going? Why don't you want to go there too?)

Looking forward to more of your dreams. Thank you for sharing!
