Lucid - Stairs, Flying, Encounters, lucid dream by wombknower -- Aug. 16, 2012

I am limiting this record to the last few hours of dreamtime, in which I became lucid.

Comments on the transition to lucidity: It was a bit of a tussle to get and remain lucid, and I think that I was lucid for only a little while.

As I become lucid, I am in the home of P&S (family friends in the waking time, who have a farm outside of Toronto, whom we would visit several times a year) I am walking down the stairs at the time that I realize that I am lucid. In stead of walking down the stairs, I practice flying down the stairs. The more I try to will myself to zoom down the stairs the slower I go.. to the point where I am in 'molasses flight' and extreme slow motion soar... I don't mind the feel of this soar, but it is very unhelpful when I am trying to go fast or to escape someone who is in pursuit of me.

Then, I go out of the house, still flying, and I'm into the neighbourhood, buzzing around, flying in and out of open windows of people's homes, looking at the ways that they live, interacting with their homes and lives - they are not aware of me - and then I fly out again.

I lose lucidity while I am in and out of these windows. I awake reflecting on the desire to have more control of my lucidity.

Do you analyze a lucid dream the same way as a 'normal' dream? For example, is it helpful to ask if you were trying to escape someone who was in pursuit of you? Or was that just a thought you had while trying to gain control over your dream? Do you have a technique you use to become lucid? Once lucid how do you gain control? Flying dreams are such a gift! I haven't had one in years. How did it feel being being in people's homes without their awareness?
