Card activity and loss, other by mikele -- Dec. 30, 2011

In the past couple of days, I was having more and more trouble keeping my office entrance card somewhere where I could find it. I would nervously search through my pants and jacket pockets until I find it to open the main door. I would also grab it and play around with it nervously while walking back to the BART station, thinking that I need to put it somewhere. Well, now I put it somewhere and I can't find it. :)

The unconscious "knocking on my door". Can't stop thinking of this Howlin Wolf song

The funny thing is how you are actually 'prevented' from remembering where you put the object, and that it seems like my activity prior the loss was preparing you for the loss of the object.

I sympathize. I've often hidden things in the most obvious of places. Like my glasses, for example, and you can imagine where they were...

Eventually found the card: it was in my bag. I cannot recall at all putting it in there.
